Private Driving Lessons: Refund & Cancellation Policy

TDLR COMPLIANCE NOTICE: This policy is established in strict accordance with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) provisions under Chapter 1001 of the Texas Education Code and Title 16, Texas Administrative Code, Chapter 84. Because private driving lessons require the exclusive reservation of an instructional vehicle and a TDLR-certified instructor, strict scheduling protocols must be maintained:

1. Advance Notice Requirement: Students must provide a minimum of 24 hours advance notice to cancel or reschedule a private driving lesson. Cancellations must be completed via our official online scheduling portal, email, or by speaking directly with a school representative during business hours.
2. Late Cancellation & No-Show Fees: If a student fails to provide a 24-hour notice, cancels late, or does not appear within fifteen (15) minutes of the scheduled start time, they will be charged a standard Late Cancellation/No-Show Fee of $50.00. Alternatively, at the school's discretion, the scheduled hour may be forfeited entirely from the student's lesson balance.

3. Required Documentation: Students must present a valid Texas Learner License (Permit) or temporary driving permit at the beginning of every single lesson. If a student fails to produce a valid physical permit, the instructor cannot legally take them on the road. The session will be canceled on-site and treated as a late cancellation/no-show.

IMPORTANT INCLEMENT WEATHER & SAFETY NOTICE

If a lesson is canceled by the driving school due to severe weather conditions, mechanical vehicle failure, or instructor emergency, the student will not incur any penalty, and the lesson hour will be rescheduled at no additional cost.

4. CONTRACT EXPIRATION POLICY

All private driving lesson packages must be completed within 365 days from the initial date of purchase. If a student fails to schedule or complete their purchased hours within this timeframe, the contract will naturally expire. In accordance with state guidelines, any unredeemed funds remaining after the expiration date are non-refundable and strictly forfeited.

5. REFUND PROCESSING TIMELINE

In accordance with Texas law, all authorized refunds will be processed and paid back to the student, parent, or primary financial guardian within thirty (30) calendar days from the "effective date of termination." The effective date of termination is defined as the day the school receives formal written notification of withdrawal from the student or  parent/guardian. Per TDLR enforcement rules, failure to issue the refund within 30 days will result in accrued statutory interest penalties assessed against the school starting on the 31st day.
